What is City Chase?
The City Chase is a unique urban adventure that requires participants to exhibit teamwork, resourcefulness, determination and the ability to make decisions on the fly as they search for ChasePoints scattered in unknown locations throughout the city. Each City Chase event starts with teams of two receiving a clue sheet detailing a variety of physical, intellectual and humorous challenges, designed to push comfort zones. The challenges are designed to test Mind, Body and Spirit.

How many people make up a team?
Chasers are comprised of teams of two. It does not have to be coed. The only specification is that at least one member must be a citizen of the country in which you are participating in, in order to be eligible for the prizes.

Can we take taxi’s or hitch a ride?

What if I am not a great athlete or not in very good shape?
The City Chase combines a variety of mental and physical challenges. If you come to a ChasePoint that is too challenging, you always have the option of looking for another one. Teams must complete only 10 ChasePoints (out of a possible 12 to 25) . Most of the physical demands of the event will be traveling between ChasePoints. Some teams choose to run, others walk, and some plan their route strategically in order to utilize as much public transit as possible.

Can I participate in more than one city?
You can participate in as many of our events as you would like.

What do we do if the weather is not good?
The elements are part of the experience and part of the Chase. The City Chase event will go on no matter the weather conditions, however there may be some last minute changes to some of the ChasePoints.

What is a ChasePoint?
Each City Chase event is comprised of a series of challenges that are referred to a “ChasePoints”. ChasePoints are designed to challenge teams through a variety of mental, physical, gastronomical, wacky, and otherwise adventurous activities.

How do I find out the exact location of each ChasePoint?
Each team will be given a clue sheet describing the list of the ChasePoints near the start of the event. The list will provide you with the exact location of some of the ChasePoints while providing only puzzles or clues or equations that will lead you to others.

What happens if I can't find a ChasePoint?
Keep looking. Be resourceful. Call for help. Ask other teams for support. If you're still stuck, you can always move on to find another ChasePoint ... you only need to complete 10 of the available ChasePoints in order to finish.

Do we have to eat any gross food?
To officially complete The City Chase you must complete only 10 of the ChasePoints available. It is up to you which ChasePoints you complete, and in which order you do them.

How do we pick up our shirts, numbers, and other information?
In each city we will have a pre-event pick up where you can pick up all CityChase materials. We will let everyone know prior to the event the location and pick up times. There may also be limited opportunity to pick things up the morning of the event.

Will I experience long lines on the day of CityChase?
It is very common to be faced with lineups in every day urban life and it is no different in this event. With hundreds of teams hitting the city at once, lineups are inevitable. Plan your route carefully and remember … you always have the option to move on to the next ChasePoint. Our staff will monitor and do our best to try and alleviate lines when possible.

What should we wear?
Dress comfortably & appropriately for the weather – Note: This event will go on no matter what the weather is. There is always a possibility of getting dirty & wet along the way. Don’t wear your favorite shorts or shoes if you are worried about them potentially getting damaged. You will also need to have your CityChase shirt and number on at all times throughout the day.

How well do I need to know the city?
It's a benefit, but it's also expected that you'll learn on the fly. A smart team with a good map and a working knowledge of the transit system will certainly compete for the crown.

Alliances? Can teams work together during the event?
Utilizing the aid of other teams or complete strangers throughout the event is encouraged. Some ChasePoints may actually require you to work with the assistance of others in order to complete the challenge.

What do we need to bring to the pre-event check in? Do both participants need to be there?
You do not need to bring anything other than id to the pre-event check in. We will need both participants to sign a waiver form prior to the event and it is most helpful to have that happen at the pre-event check-in. If someone cannot be there and there is not a signed waiver by both, then we will hand out the CityChase race bibs on the morning of the event once we have both people on a signed waiver form.

Is there a preset course the participants need to follow in The City Chase?
No. Teams are free to chart their own course between ChasePoints throughout the event. In fact, in order to miss delays at busy ChasePoints close to the start line some teams opt to go to the further one and work their way back.

How do I win The City Chase?
The first team to cross the finish line with a valid passport containing 10 official ChasePoint stamps is the winner. To be considered finished a Team must cross the finish line together.
