A weekend of Chasing the City with Nat Geo City Chase

On Friday, 1st August 2008, the Singapore Slingers, along with guests at The Cavern at Boat Quay, tried out the latest craze in town, sport stacking.

Slinger stacking

Sport stacking (formerly known as cup stacking and commonly known as speed stacking) is an individual and team activity played using plastic cups to upstack and downstack a pre-determined sequence. The guests competed against the Slingers, each other and the time of 20s to win a refreshing glass of San Miguel, our official beer. At the end of the evening, the top two competitors competed in a stack off to win a free pair of entry passes to Nat Geo City Chase, happening on 23rd Aug 2008.

They will be providing the Fast Forward vehicles on the actual event day. The Fast Forward is a vehicle provided on course that enables Chasers to travel from point to point. On Saturday 2nd August, the group had a RAV4 awareness drive around Singapore, which included 10 Nat Geo City Chase Rav4s.

The convoy started at Queenstown Club, through Chinatown, Clarke Quay, Orchard Road, Kallang and finally arriving at East Coast Park for a picnic. In addition, five Nat Geo City Chase Rav4s will be zipping through town for the weeks leading up to 23rd August.
