THE CHASE 2008
Hong Kong's second City Chase came to the Asia's gateway city on Saturday 18th October. Starting, this year, at The Peak Piazza the Chase began at 12 midday with the usual chaos of Chasers battling to get their clue sheets before dashing off on some form of public transport or for the quick ones, perhaps dashing to Madame Tussauds!!
This year's Chase took the same form as the international Chase series; Chasers having to crack clues to locate the destination of the 10 challenges they wish to complete. This year there were 23 ChasePoints for Chasers to choose from and these varied in location from as close to The Peak as Madame Tussauds and Mother's Choice and as far from The Peak as Fa Yuen street in Mong Kok and Cyberport in Pok Fu Lam.
ChasePoints ranged from the plain ridiculous; putting on ten wet t-shirts and ten wet shorts at the Kappa shop in Fa Yuen street or dancing the highland jig with a stranger in Causeway Bay, to the physically testing; a set of exercises at Optimum Performance Studio in Central or climbing the 18m high YMCA King's Park wall in Jordan, to the simply disgusting; playing with eels at the Hong Kong Football Club or rummaging for magots at the White Stag in Wan Chai. As with every year, however, all Chasers took the challenges in the spirit they were intended and made it back to the finish just before 6pm!
The after party was fantastically attended by over 200 guests who all enjoyed the fabulous views of our unique city from the Peak Tower's Sky Terrace as well as copius Tiger beers and delicious Bubba Gump snacks!
City Chase Hong Kong will be back with a vengeance next year and we hope to see you there!!
